This paper will include the review of the basic ethical principles of employee behavior in organization, describing the most difficult and the most important concepts for me.
It is necessary to define the ethics of the business relationship. Therefore, ethics of business relations in the organization is a system of universal and specific moral requirements and standards in professional activities. It includes the ethical assessment of the internal and external policies of the organization, moral principles, moral climate in the organization, and rules of business etiquette.
On one hand of ethics is an area of knowledge, the scientific discipline that studies morality, dynamics, factors and changes. On the other hand, the term ethics refers to a set of moral rules itself in a particular area of human behavior, or organization. Aristotle first used the designation of special areas of knowledge. The term "ethos" refers to the agreed rules and patterns of everyday behavior, lifestyle in the community of people (class, professional group, social class, generation, etc.), as well, the orientation of a culture, adopted at its hierarchy values.
In most organizations, the basic document that defines and regulates the behavior of the employee is a code of ethics. Actually, the corporate code of ethics is only effective if every employee obeys it, so even at the stage of its creation it is necessary to provide procedures, where the development of a paper involves all employees. The effectiveness of codes of ethics depends on whether the company perceives them as the institutional norms; there is a gap between the formalized ethical standards and their application in specific situations. The best way to determine the quality of ethic code is its perception by the employees.
In my opinion, the two most important ethical principles, which I use to bring iportant changes to the company, are creativity and commitment to excellence.
Creative thinking is an essential feature of the employee. In each case, the employee must count every nuance of the case, to make the best decision and get the best results. In the absence of creative thinking expert will act according to the scheme, which significantly reduces mobility, its effectiveness could have negative affect for the client and the organization.
The desire for self-improvement should be seen not only in the constant pursuit of specialist for professional growth, practical experience, skills and new theoretical knowledge, but also in improving the spiritual and moral qualities. Self-improvement is not an end in itself, but for any individual improvement of the professional and spiritual qualities is one of the most important needs. High moral qualities can self-regulate their behavior and actions, to implement self-control and moral self-image. In the absence of the employee’s commitment to self-development, his professional and spiritual qualities are not developing, and the effectiveness of the results of his work for the organization does not increase.
Special attention should be paid to the ethics of the leader. Head of the organization, especially a higher rank (President, General Manager, Chairman of the Board), is the face of the organization. In his appearance, the manner of behavior, the degree of fulfillment of the requirements of business etiquette the whole organization can be judged, but even one small mistake can spoil the impression of all organization.
The effectiveness of the team, its ability to solve tasks depends on moral - psychological climate, as well as the atmosphere in the team, which in other words means being equal, due to the qualitative composition and the characteristics of informal relationships between managers and subordinates.
The hardest two principles, which I, as the leader of the organization should be guided by in my work, are the endurance and self-control, attention and observation.
Endurance and self-control - are the qualities of the leader's personality. Without them, his professional activities are not possible. In any situation, he must count the emotional status of clients and his employees. Even, if a person is angry and allows himself to throw out the negative emotions, the leader has no right to retaliate.
Endurance and self-control are the indispensable qualities of the leader's personality, who has to be patient to reach an agreement with his client or subordinate. If a leader cannot restrain his emotions, behaves with customers and employees inadequate, he will not have respect among staff and clients. This affects the company’s profit.
The other very important features of a leader are attentiveness and observation. The leader must pay attention to the slightest change in his attitude, both positive and negative. It will help to catch insincerity of a client and push to verify the information.
The abidance of this principle will help to negotiate with clients effectively and to notice some problems in the team, which could prevent any financial damage to the company, and will boost the credibility of the leader among employees.
Thus, the qualities of the leader’s personality largely determine the success of its interaction with the customer and the staff and are a necessary condition for the best suitability. Formation of moral character is by mastering the spiritual values of society and the profession, to turn them into beliefs and needs. The qualities of the leader's personality he displays to a customer, his environment and society, raise the level of public morality, and thus - increases income of the organization.
